Diabloceratops

Gameplay guide

This profile gathers useful information for choosing this dinosaur, understanding its role, and preparing a Gateway session.

Play style

Defensive charger

Diabloceratops plays as an aggressive defender. It is not built to chase across the whole map: it chooses ground where its horns face the threat, protects its flanks with the herd, then punishes enemy commitment with a headbutt, shove, or stun. Solo, it must avoid being rotated around. In a herd, it becomes an anchor: it forces carnivores to respect the group's front and turns every sloppy approach into punishment.

Active abilities

Left click

Horn attack

Left click performs the main horn attack. It punishes anything entering the frontal arc, finishes a stopped target, or takes initiative after an enemy gives a bad angle. Diablo wins when it forces opponents through the space in front of its head.

Sprint + left click

Charge / shove

While sprinting, left click becomes a short charge that can shove, stun, or knock down depending on target weight. It is powerful, but not an endless chase tool: charge to create separation or punish a commit, then return to formation instead of running too far.

Hold right click

Brace / frontal guard

Holding right click lowers the head and puts Diablo into a defensive stance. It moves more slowly and cannot use a normal headbutt while braced, but it takes frontal pressure much better, especially to the head. This is the button that turns a duel into a patience test: show the horns, let the enemy commit, then answer.

Sparring: spacebar + direction

Horn sparring

Against another ceratopsian, horns can lock together. The fight becomes more technical: push, resist, choose the right movement, and keep enough stamina to break the lock. To disengage, use spacebar with a movement direction.

Attacks

  • Frontal horn attack
  • Running shove to cut an attack line
  • Stun or knockdown depending on target weight
  • Downward headbutt with a longer animation but heavy impact
  • Sparring control against other ceratopsians

Strengths

  • Very strong when it keeps the threat inside its frontal arc
  • 3000 kg and 275 force, dangerous to medium carnivores
  • Reduced head damage while in defensive stance
  • Excellent anchor for protecting a herbivore group
  • Good at correcting angles through strafing and short pivots

Weaknesses

  • Vulnerable to rear and side pressure
  • Charges, locks, and bad commits quickly tax stamina
  • Loses a lot of value if it chases too far and exposes its flanks
  • Sparring requires timing knowledge and knowing how to break locks
  • Terrain and obstacles can break charge lines and expose its rear

Official notes

Selection-screen data: Diet DT_Herbivore, Preferred Food Marigold, Fireweed, Cashew. Basic Max Weight 3000.0, Basic Max Speed 949.771545, Basic Max Bite Force 275.0, Basic Max Group Size 6. Official announcements accompanied Diabloceratops becoming playable in EVRIMA with dedicated combat mechanics. Official devblogs describe Diabloceratops sparring as a duel and combat-strafe mechanic intended to add depth to ceratopsian fights. Official sources and verified EVRIMA guides frame Diablo as a frontal defender: keeping the head toward the threat and using the defensive stance are central to its identity. Recent official patch notes keep adjusting ceratopsian combat interactions, so attack and recovery values should remain easy to update.

Community notes

Evrima Quick Guide describes Diablo as a compact, mobile ceratopsian that can sprint-shove, reduce head damage while braced, and manage attack limits through recovery dots. The EVRIMA wiki gives about 5.5 m in length and confirms the profile of a heavy herbivore that is dangerous from the front but more vulnerable when flanked. Speed check: the selection screen shows 949.771545 raw speed, which converts to about 34.2 km/h with our 0.036 multiplier. Several community sheets show 36 km/h; we keep the current local screen value as reference.
