Austroraptor

Gameplay guide

This profile gathers useful information for choosing this dinosaur, understanding its role, and preparing a Gateway session.

Play style

Opportunistic shoreline hunter

Austroraptor plays as a shoreline hunter: it alternates aquatic feeding, small land pressure, and escapes through banks. It should not pretend to be a large-adult killer. Its strength is the hybrid route: fish during the day, stay near a water exit, pounce an isolated target, then disappear before the fight turns into a heavy trade.

Play style

Active abilities

Left click

Primary bite

Left click remains the simple bite. It finishes small prey, defends after a pounce, or punishes an opponent that gets too close. With only 40 bite force, Austro should avoid long frontal trades.

Right click

Pounce / latch

Right click triggers pounce. Austro launches at a valid target to create a short opening, especially against small game or isolated prey. It is not a heavy-duel tool: a bad pounce can leave it away from water, without an exit angle, and exposed to immediate punishment.

Spacebar at surface

Water jump

Spacebar lets Austro jump from the water surface. This makes shorelines less predictable: it can clear an obstacle, leave from somewhere other than the obvious bank, or buy a few meters to keep fleeing.

G, daytime

Spearfishing

G enters the daytime spearfishing stance. This is a real survival route: Austro can feed along shorelines and reduce risky ground hunts, as long as it checks the water before exposing its position.

Austroraptor

Attacks

  • Primary bite
  • Pounce / latch against isolated targets
  • Directional bite for short angle correction
  • Daytime spearfishing

Strengths

  • Can play between land and water, using less obvious routes than pure land carnivores
  • Can feed through daytime spearfishing
  • Water jump makes bank exits less predictable
  • Pack limit of 8, useful for watching shorelines and multiplying angles
  • Strong profile for hunting small game and isolated targets

Weaknesses

  • Light and fragile body: bad trades are expensive
  • Not specialized for killing large adult prey
  • Water access does not make it safe: Deinosuchus and Beipiaosaurus groups remain dangerous
  • Spearfishing only works during the day
  • A missed or poorly chosen pounce can isolate it away from a safe exit

Official notes

Selection-screen data: Preferred Food Clam, Bullfrog, Chicken, Rabbit, Deinosuchus, Hypsilophodon, Beipiaosaurus, EliteFish, Psittacosaurus, Seaturtle. Basic Max Weight 240.0, Basic Max Speed 1337.0, Basic Max Bite Force 40.0, Basic Max Group Size 8. Official patch 0.21.772 adds Austroraptor to Evrima with three confirmed tools: right-click pounce, spacebar water jump from the surface, and daytime spearfishing with G. Official notes describe Austroraptor as focused on spearfishing and hunting small game. It is more fragile than Omniraptor despite being taller, can pounce and latch, can swap pounce slot positions, is not specialized for large prey, and can swim underwater.

Community notes

Evrima Quick Guide matches the selection screen: 240 kg, about 48.1 km/h, 40 bite force, and a pack limit of 8. Raw speed 1337 converts to 48.1 km/h with the 0.036 multiplier. The Isle Field Guide describes it as a new shoreline hunter with provisional strategy built around pounce, daytime fishing, water jump, and caution around aquatic predators.
